America Parks

There are a large variety of America parks to visit if you love the outdoors. The United States has 58 state parks in many different states. Some states have lots of parks, some have only one and others have none. It all depends on where you are. The parks are headed up by the NPS or National Park Service. This service is under the Department of the Interior and works to manage all the National Parks in the U.S. With so many parks all across the map this is an admirable task indeed.

For example, in Alaska you will find eight parks including Denali National Park. At Denali National Park you can visit the dog sledding camp, ski, snowboard, hike, take guided tours and much more. If you want a warmer destination you can't miss Yosemite National Park in California or the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. As its name suggests this park is a protective area for several volcanoes in this spectacular state. There are parks in California, the Carolinas, Florida, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon and a wide variety of other states. No matter where you are there is likely a park within reasonable driving distance.

Every park will have an entry fee. However you can purchase an annual pass that grants you entry into all National Parks for one year. This is a good bargain if you are a frequent traveler or year round visitor to a local park. Groups, children and senior citizens may be able to obtain discounted rates depending on the park. Before planning a vacation or even a day trip to a park, you should do some research and learn about the features, rules, regulations and travel information relating to the park. Some parks have closed areas during fall and winter. Of course others offer great downhill skiing like Tahoe National Park.

One resource that is very helpful for researching the parks is the NPS website. NPS stands for National Parks Service and is the agency that is in charge of all the National Parks. Although it is part of the Department of Interior the NPS is the authority who manages every park. This is where you want to go for not only park information but also job information. America parks provide a great many jobs for citizens and employ temporary and permanent employees all over the country.
